Wireless speakers are everywhere these days, finally we can take our music wherever we want it and enjoy it as it’s meant to be heard. Of course, with so many on the market it’s hard to know which ones you should pick up. That’s why we’ve looked at the Ultimate Ears range at Techscheme, one of the industry’s most trusted brands have three models available – you can spread the cost over up to 3 years at Techscheme and we’ll even shave off up to 12% on the RRP.
We’ll start with the Megaboom, partly because it’s the top end model and partly because it has the coolest name. This cylindrical speaker, available in Electric Blue, Lava Red, Plum and Black has a battery life of 20 hours, meaning it’ll do you well over a weekend festival. It’s waterproof for up to 30 minutes at 1m so you’ll not have to worry about puddles and designed to be extra hardy for those accidental knocks.
It pumps out incredible 360-sound over Bluetooth and you can pair it with up to 8 other devices so that not only one person has to be the party DJ, or if you’ve got it at home in the kitchen, the whole family can connect at various times. You can also connect up to two devices at the same time, if you want to DJ battle. It’ll work from 100 feet away and you could even pick up two, and control them both from the same device.
The Megaboom provides excellent sound quality with durability and portability, it’s a brilliant wireless sound system. The RRP is £249.99, but we can save you £30 on that at Techscheme.
UE Boom 2
Next up if the Boom 2, it looks very similar in design to the Megaboom, but it’s smaller and thinner making it a good option for when you’re going out without a bag. There’s a great range of colours to choose from in Phantom, Brainfreeze, Tropical, Yeti, Greenmachine and Cherry Bomb that mean you can really personalise these great Bluetooth wireless speakers.
Sound quality is also excellent, it’s powerfully loud with deep resonant bass. It’s pairing options and range of play are the same as the Megaboom and they both also work have Siri and Google Now voice integration, so you don’t even need to be near them to switch songs or pump up the volume – great for just setting up and going off to mingle.
Due to its smaller size, the battery isn’t as large as on the Megaboom, but it’ll still give you a good 15 hours, perhaps making this a better option if you just want something to use in the house or take to parties where you won’t be bringing luggage. At Techscheme we’ll save you just over £20 on the UE Boom 2.
UE Roll 2
Lastly, we’ll talk about the Roll 2. A Bluetooth wireless speaker with activity in mind. The smaller circular speaker is all about being ready to follow you anywhere. With its bungee cord straps, it can follow you anywhere. Fix it on to your rucksack, climbing equipment, swimming gear or anything else you can think of to have your music, unobtrusively join you wherever you may go.
Like the others, it’s designed to take a battering, it’s waterproof and it has all the same wireless capabilities and compatibility features. It’s less loud, as you’d expect with a smaller device, but that’s fine as this speaker is designed to work best when it’s right with you. The battery life lasts up to 9 hours which makes this a great speaker for daytrips and activities.
The UE Roll 2 comes in four colours at Techscheme – Habanero, Sugarplum, Atmosphere and Volcano – but whichever flavour suits you best, we’ll save you up to £9.60 on it.
