The MacBook Pro is well established as consistently being one of the finest laptops around. There is a significance to those three little letters at the end – Pro – a certain cachet that screams quality. That’s why we’re delighted to have the new 13-inch and 15-inch models at Techscheme. With our employee benefits, you could save hundreds on these new MacBooks, but first off, you’ll want to see if they live up to the name.
On the Outside
The look of the 2016 MacBook isn’t far off previous versions; they have the same classic lines, there are some new milled-in button recesses for the keyboard, all packed into a slightly slimmer build for a prestige finish. There are a couple of big changes, though, the new Trackpads are huge, almost twice the size of the previous generation. That means navigating on a new MacBook is incredibly easy and when added to the fact that it’s a Force Touch Trackpad then you’ve got a usefully sensitive and accurate tool that could stop you reaching for a USB mouse.
Then there’s the new shining glory, the Touch Bar. It’s a thin touchscreen strip that sits at the top of the keyboard that replaces the function buttons. When you’re using an application it’ll display a number of buttons or functions that you can use. It’s fully customisable and has tons of uses. When typing it can show Quick Type suggestions or emojis, if you’re flicking through a picture gallery it’ll show you the full reel to select from, and it incorporates Touch ID so that you can sign in with a finger, and even use it with Apple pay, so you don’t need to pull your cards out of your pocket when buying online.
You can pick up a new MacBook Pro without the new Touch Bar, as they’ve left it off the low-end 13-inch model it’s still got an impressive Intel i5 processor and 8GB of RAM, though, so while it doesn’t quite match up to its stable mates it’s still one heck of a machine. At Techscheme we can save you up to £173 on the MacBook Pro without Touch Bar.

Under the Hood
When we look at the specifications for the new line of MacBook Pros we have to say that obviously, it will vary depending on the configuration you choose. As a baseline for the Pro 13s: they all come with a 6th generation Intel i5 processor and they’ll range from 2.0GHz dual-core to 2.9GHz quad core as the price rises. Lower-end models feature Intel Iris 540 Graphics, while the higher end has the Iris 550.
When it comes to the 15-inch models, you’ll see two kinds at Techscheme. There’s the 2.6GHz i7 quad-core, with 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD (solid state drive) that comes with the Radeon 450 graphics, and then a 2.7GHz i7 with 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD, and Radeon 455 graphics. If you’re not quite sure what that means, well, it means that whichever MacBook Pro you go for, you’re not going to be wanting for power anytime soon.
Gamers should stick to the high-end 15-inch models for the best performance, while every model here is suited to pretty much any other task you can think of. Those top of the line 15-inch MacBook Pros with 512GB SSD come with potential savings of up to £323 at Techscheme.
